I went here on my lunch break and it did not disappoint! I always judge a sushi place on their raw fish and Z Sushi was solid. The service was attentive, the fish was fresh and the restaurant was nice and clean. I also ordered the Salmon Skin Roll and the Crunch Roll which were both great. I def recommend this spot to other sushi lovers and will for sure be coming back!

11.12.2o21 It's crazy how this restaurant has been around and I've passed by everyday going to work, yet had never eaten here. After seeing someone posted it on SGV, my husband and I decided to come here for our date night. Since it was our first time and we always tended to order more than what we can eat, we tried our best to control ourselves for once. We ordered two deluxe chirashi bowl and one mixed tempura to share, plus two hot tea. The chirashi bowl didn't look too big but we were so full we could hardly finish the everything. Ok, not everything, I couldn't finish all the rice and I felt so bad. :( The food were good. Service was attentive. A little bit too attentive as we had three different servers checking on us before we ordered, after we ordered, and tried to take our orders. Hahaha We plan to try the omakase the next time we visit. Funny side story, it was my niece's birthday the next day and my husband wanted to get her a pen. Which we planned to go to Target after dinner. Then when we got our bill, it came with a pretty looking pen to sign. It's a simple pen with a giant "diamond" on the top. As we were heading out, my husband asked if we can buy one from them. One of the staffs told us it's sold on Amazon but we only needed one and it's for the next day. So another staff went to check the in the back and they did have a few available for us to choose from. A few dollar well spent and that saved us a trip to Target. That was very very nice of them!

I preface this review by saying we initially planned on going to Kiku Sushi located in Monrovia. But we decided to just stick a little closer to home. Item's ordered: The gf quickly decided she wanted the Deluxe Chirashi (of course) & I thought I'd be getting one of those combo bentos where you can select two items like most sushi places have. Unfortunately, that option is available only at lunch so I just got the Teriyaki Chicken dinner. Taste: First up as usual was the miso soups & salads. The miso soup was fine, it's pretty much the same at these types of places. I do like the addition of the fried tofu which is not common in miso soup. Salads were quite good & I enjoyed the dressing which tasted like a miso creamy ginger flavor. The addition of crispy wontons kinda serving as croutons worked out well. Honestly as soon as they brought over the gf's Deluxe Chirashi my first thought was it was probably the smallest version I've seen of it compared to other places. She really liked it though & very much enjoyed how they topped it with uni. The fish fresness was definitely there. The Chicken Teriyaki came out on one of those sizzling hot plates which makes for nice presentation & hot food which is good. I've gotta say it's probably the best teriyaki chicken I've had at a sushi place. The chicken was cooked well, not dry at all, with just a little char. The sauce was quite good too. It just had more fuller flavor & nice balance of savory & sweet. It was good portion of meat & I would have liked a little more veggies along with it. One major critique, at least for me is how this place does NOT let you order the mixed combo bento at dinner time. It's only for lunch. It just seems so random & limiting since this is the only place I've seen do this. Most other similar places usually have the same options for lunch & dinner, but just charge more at dinner. Service & parking: The service was very friendly & attentive with no problems at all. They checked our temps at the door (covid-19 problems) & sat us immediately. I should mention it was a Monday night though. Parking is very easy in their moderately sized lot. Even if there lot is full it should not be hard to find a spot in the residential area not far off. Being that the place is pretty close by I suppose I would return here but mainly because it's the gf who is a sushi addict. But I'd probably do lunch for the combo bento option.

I can't believe I haven't wrote a review for Z Sushi. It's my favorite sushi place in Alhambra. Back then exiting this parking lot is a hassle. I see that they put a sign to not block the entry way and it helps. Again, I prefer early dinner to avoid the crowd. Once I sat down, customers came in and it's almost a full house with social distancing of course. I appreciate being acknowledged and greeted when I came in and left after dinner. I was seated in the back room. It was my first time sitting in that section and I like it since it's away from everyone. The waiters and waitresses here are nice and attentive. I ordered a few things as shown in photos below. There isn't a single bad dish here. My favorite is salmon carpaccio and I ordered this often. I know it's probably funny that I like to order Shirley temple from here but it brings back memory since high school days. I don't see it on the menu anymore though. I also ordered salmon skin roll for To go. I can't wait to come back and try other items on the menu. I had a great time here as always.

This is probably one of my favorite Japanese styled restaurants. The restaurant has "sushi" in the name but I haven't tried any of the rolls or Omakase. I did try their Sashimi as part of the daily bento which is my go to. The Daily bento changes the sides but generally is the same. It's not too expensive and it is quite filling. I usually get the chicken daily bento with sashimi sushi. The daily bento tastes great and it's fresh as well. The Sashimi includes tuna and salmon, I prefer salmon over tuna. Service here is good and they keep your water filled. If you come here, check in on yelp and you'll get a free tempura edame. Most of their lunch specials come with a free Miso soup which is pretty good. Coming to this place, you want to come heading north on Garfield. This restaurant is located in the intersection of Huntington, Atlantic, and Garfield which can get a little confusing. There is a parking lot in the front, some spots are designated head in only parking.
